The latest English update stops the app from loading properly any content in any area. Live TV has never worked. It I want to see the news, I have to switch languages to Deutsch, which runs an older and more functional version of DW. I used to love seeing a Eurocentric news source with good funding and views, but unfortunately I cannot utilize it successfully any longer.

There's an old adage that says, "If it isn't broken, don't fix it." This was an excellent app until the last two updates. Now it crashes frequently when accessing it, it's literally "jumpy", advancing to the next section or page as if by an unseen hand. It "freezes" for no apparent reason, and has to be rebooted. On one memorable occasion, I had to shut the phone down and restart it. This is a new phone, with only 10% of memory used. What was once an excellent app is now garbage.

Nov 24, 2022: per develp'r. instructions,uninstalled and reinstalled - not worth a hoot! Video still stops completley; loads of aggravating ads. Uninstalling. Loaded Update of Nov. 14 and no longer plays correctly - videos stop, frequent breaks in the sound; nothing but problems now. Very frustrating; will remove app. Sad to end this channel. Nov. 19, 2022 Excellent news reporting. Wish it had an onscreen volume control and go-dark option for listening only in the dark and to save battery life.

Clicking on a notification will bring you to a blank screen. Unable to click into most if not any of the news articles. Live TV link kind of works, takes a lot of buffering if it loads at all. This is not a problem I have with anything else internet concerned. I am in Australia, with a good provider and am using this on a Motorola g54 5g

Terrible. So far, 3 times out of 4 starts it's just not worked, even after clearing cache and restarting. Just not functional.

September 11 2024..reinstalled...still very bad...same problem as stated below...the worst of any international news app which doesn't take away from the effort of editors and reporters...it's an IT problem that adversely affects DW's reputation...May 15, 2023...unstable thus unreliable... May 1, 2023...doesn't load story from notification

Needs a dark mode and more font options. Articles are good, sometimes they feel a little anticlimactic but they're informative. Interesting to read world events from a different perspective.

Right loading the story the apps hide the bookmark and share icon. It's a game of whack-a-mole reloading the article and tapping the share icon.
